Heroes

It always bugs me who the media calls heroes. For instance: People who did not get out of New Orleans when told to, but survived were called "Heroes". The people who died in the World Trade Center were called "Heroes". Some were; if they helped others get out. But most were victims, not 'Heroes'. Recently, a women was called a hero because she fought back against a mugger. She was fighting for her purse, not to save or help someone else. While she should be commended for standing up for herself; that doesn't fit my discription of a hero. A hero is someone who places their live or well-being on the line for someone else. All of our troops who serve, are putting their lives as well as their families lifestyles on the line for us. They are heroes.
